First, a wish list will be published by the core team that describes products we’d love for community builders to build. All relevant parameters and expectations will be detailed in the list, such as: product type, specifications, uses, fund distribution timeline, etc.

Builder Rewards v.2 postponed

You may have already heard, but we’re making big changes to the Incognito Project (if you haven’t, read this post. We’re sidelining most layer-2 development to dedicate all of our resources and time to decentralizing the network and increasing transparency.

While builders are by far the most important agents in the Incognito ecosystem, we aren’t ready to support a new Builder Rewards program. Rather than continuously changing expectations, and requiring strict oversight, and keeping some source code closed, we’ve decided to focus on decentralizing the project and then open-sourcing its code, meanwhile postponing the new Builder Rewards program until the network is released.

By taking the time to get our proverbial (and literal) Duck(y)s in a row, we can let builders take charge and come alongside them in expanding the Incognito application layer.

Thanks for all you do to build out privacy, and for being patient as we create the landscape that gives you not only the most freedom and control, but also the most support.

In the meantime, if you have ideas for the new program, this discussion can still live on until it’s time to put those ideas into practice. And if you have privacy projects you want to build, you’re still able and encouraged to! Incognito may not yet have a rewards structure in place, but both privacy and entrepreneurship can still thrive, if you want them to.
