Why are updates not in GitHub?

I did see the FAQ section for “Why are there so many in-app updates?” and can understand why minor updates may not be pushed to the App/Play Store, but why are they not included in the GitHub repository?

This seems odd and a little unnerving, especially considering how the in-app updates proclaim that you must update to continue using the app. The app is now on v4.3.5 and both in the Store and on Github the latest version is only v4.3.0.

Can we get all updates added to the repo?

They are included. I think you miss them. You may see them in https://github.com/incognitochain/incognito-wallet/tags more clearly. Even there is a branch for each release. e.g: https://github.com/incognitochain/incognito-wallet/tree/release/4.3.5

I did miss those. They are hidden on the release page, not officially marked as “released”. They are also not verified. Why is that?:

Dunno. May be related to QC process.

This time 4.7.2 isn’t even in the tags. I see the tree here, but is that even usable? Do you have to generate an apk manually?

Hi @drusin, all releases on the store will be updated here, minor updates via codepush will be tagged here. You can get the latest apk here and it will update automatically via codepush

I can see that the latest two codepush updates (4.7.2 & 4.7.3) are tagged there now, but note the date on them is October 28 (the same day you posted that reply, is that a coincidence?)

Release 4.7.2 was pushed at least as early as October 20 when I made that post. So I’m still curious: Why/how is it that updates are not in the repository?

it’s my mistake for not tagging the release
