Ways to spend cryptocurrencies?

Hello. I’m from Mexico, and I was wondering if someone knows ways to spend crypto, like webpages to buy gift cards, products, services, etc.

By now, the only way I can spend my crypto is with the Mullvad VPN and maybe donating some BTC to open source projects.

Hey @J053 I dont exactly know which products/services are available specifically in mexico, but i live relatively close (Argentina) and over here there is a HUGE ammount of use cases for not only btc but crypto all together. From services to groceries to real estate.

Theres a few major companies that do accept bitcoin which you may find useful, heres a nice little blogpost which shows some of these.

Bitrefill is one of the best ways to spend your crypto privately. You will find there giftcards for almost everything. If you want to buy something you can send it directly from your incognito wallet via unshield to the payment address. https://www.bitrefill.com/

I hope once we become bigger one day it will be integrated somehow in our incognito wallets or at least be possible to pay directly with PRV on there site.

Somebody knows about Starbucks Europe if the payment works? Can’t find out how, or only possible in US?

After you mentioned it some time back, I tried it and it worked great. Bought a nice birthday gift using crypto.

One thing I haven’t tested is if giftcards keep track of remaining balances.

Yes this service is really working great. The giftcards should keep track of remaining balances. You can buy for example a voucher for Amazon for 100 USD and the balance will just show up in your amazon account. So you can buy today something for 10 USD and next month for 30 USD etc. no problem at all.

There is a company called FOLD…that basicaly allows a person to buy gift cards with additional rebate features and stuff…I will paste link here and well some of you can check it out and let me know what you think…to be more specific it’s a bitcoin rewards card… here is the link anyway… https://foldapp.com/card/

I’ve used Fold for awhile. Unfortunate I don’t think there is a way to add crypto to spend, only bank or credit card. Rewards are in BTC.

I also use Uphold and their card. They do let you use crypto to buy things with the card but it requires all the KYC to set up and get the card.

I have an UPhold card myself…so yea there is like no perfect solution for all scenarios so I guess we just keep looking and hopefully find something that will work for what our needs be at that moment… :slightly_smiling_face:
