Support for Hive and Hive Engine

It would be nice to see support for the Hive blockchain, including support for Hive, HBD, and Hive Engine tokens.

Right now, it’s quite difficult to exchange Hive anonymously. The only way to do so that I’m aware of is using Godex. Incognito supporting Hive, HBD, and Hive Engine tokens would be extremely useful.

However, the way Hive handles addresses may pose a challenge for integration into Incognito. Unlike other cryptocurrencies which derives addresses from public keys, addresses on Hive are usernames.

Another challenge that could arise is how Hive handles transaction fees. Rather than having traditional fees, Hive uses a credits system based on how much Hive you have staked on the network. These credits regenerate over time at a rate of 20% per day.

Hive also has a memo system, much like Incognito. Preserving these memos for unshield transactions would be useful as a good number of services on Hive make use of them.

This would also be a good opportunity to inform more people about Incognito, as Hive is also a social platform. There’s even a finance community built upon it, LeoFinance, that uses Hive Engine.

With some scripting, you can already make that work the same way Hive is available on Ionomy, and tokens of other chains are available on Hive engine.

  • create your own coin on the Incognito chain
  • create an account dedicated to this service on Hive
  • use the memo for either Incognito address or Hive account name
  • monitor the Incognito address and the Hive account for transactions through scripting
