Incognito chain’s code upgrade (tag: 20220322_1)

Hi Incognito validators,

We’ve just released a protocol code update for:

  • Fantom <> Incognito bridge.
  • Increasing max committee size to 48 (that will reduce fixed node dominance to 46%).
  • Fixing memory consuming issue.

The protocol changes are expected to be effective on March 28, 2022. The latest code is published in 2 forms:

If you run pNodes or set up your vNodes by following our instructions , they should pull the latest docker image automatically. In case you encounter any issues with the code update, feel free to contact @support for assistance.

Thank you!

Just out of curiosity, how will this happen? Will it just suddenly cut the pending epoch times of our existing nodes, or will it phase in more nodes gradually as we get new shorter pending times?

The change is the committee queue config is set to 48.
When this happen more node will fill the committee queue up to 48, and then there is normal swap as usual.

One of my nodes just completed committee and is set to 56 epochs pending. So the pending epoch time we get right now will not be correct once the change happens, because we’ll get in faster?

yes it could be not correct as we need 3 epochs to fill 16 more nodes. After that, pending queue / 6 is the correct expected time.
It make the node be committee faster (your case is ~37) and in committee longer (4-5 epochs). However, the reward is distributed to 48 nodes, so reward will be around 6.7 PRV per epoch.

wow, great news. can I trade Fantom now ?

No, you cannot. It is just a bridge. First, someone should provide FTM liquidity in pDEX. Then you can trade.
