thanks everyone for joining
Bit of a late reply, sorry. But youāre right, it is a bit overkill. Even I donāt make much effort to do much about it. I suppose it depends somewhat on when you talk about privacy vs anonymity vs online safety from thievesā¦ And of course your threat level.
For me fingerprinting is the biggest privacy threat, hence my comment, but perhaps less important with crypto theft.
Didnāt know that about Mullvad, good to hear! I inherently donāt trust VPN reviewsā¦ but I will check some of those links out. And yeah, I agree running through two VPNs is overkill
Although, it seems like you need two VPNs these days anyway - one to unblock netflix or streaming content etc and another one for actual privacy that you trust.
Hello,
Iām using Carbon Browser on Android, not all features are available yet, but it looks promising. It would even be a good thing to be featured on their home page, among the Dapp.
With web wallet access
Test it and tell me what you think
Mullvad is a great VPN, however, they recently made the decision to stop allowing port forwarding. Something to consider depending on your needs.
The website states 100% privacy - which is dubious at best. Plus it doesnāt say how it actually achieves it.
Also, I found this in the privacy policy:
"Carbon at times may use certain advertisement platforms including Affinity, AdMob (āThird-Party Advertisersā).
Information including but not strictly limited to network provider, time, device IP address, location based on IP address, advertising ID will be shared with the Third-Party Advertisers.
Third-Party Advertisers may use cookies to serve personalised ads."
So yeahā¦
Just wanted to give a shout to SurfShark, which Iāve been using since there release!! It reads really solid, no-logs, they keep upgrading and I found no complaints. Selling point for me was unlimited device connection, so my whole fam/frnds can protect all their devices! I think they now offer a dedicated IP.
What is the benefit of the dedicated IP?
Mullvad says dedicated IP isnāt good as it can link your traffic on the backend to you.
Dedicated IP addresses are usually good if you need to host something and remotely access it. It also makes it where you donāt have to worry about the IP being blacklisted. I personally recommend Mullvad, although they recently stopped supporting open ports (mainly impacts torrenting - thus slower).
Thanks Jared. Thatās kinda what I thought but didnāt know the specifics. Iāll be sure to look into Mullvad too.
