Compound and other unverified coin

I got some of that free COMP from coinbase and shielded it in incognito. It is currently an unverified currency, and I was wondering if it was going to be verified at some point. It’s USD value on the app is listed at way lower than what coinbase says - I’m curious where that value comes from.

Should I just hold on to it until it’s verified, or will that never happen?

Hi @meego Verified assets are assets tha we have checked to make sure they are the real asset. Within the incognito app you have the option to mint a new pCoin, have you heard about this? Users can create any token and some get sly with it and create tokens with names similar to some very well know blockchain. Thats where the verification badge comes into place, saying that it is the right asset.

In this case to verify COMP i would need a bit of information from you.

Such as

  • Shielding transaction (outchain and inchain)
  • Unshielding transaction
  • Token contract

With that information i can verify the token. Thanks!

Exactly like Chucky said. This is a manual process, and you should submit a request with token information for the core team to verify.

Great, thanks Chucky:

So assuming that I didn’t just lose my COMP into a fake copy. Here was the first shielding transaction:

InChain: https://mainnet.incognito.org/tx/9f0700559687f43a75b1666118044ba51d6ddfa4cff7d7c6ffb54f5089a7723f

OutChain: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x2e1fb54ed4a85c8bc8eaa079c3e343962eeb0265b84e5ea3d3f46daf03ec7a57

Contract: 0xc00e94cb662c3520282e6f5717214004a7f26888

I don’t have any unshielding information as far as I can tell… That would be created if I moved it out of incognito correct?

That is correct you would get unshielding information from unshielding a bit of COMP. You did not lose your COMP to a fake copy. This is the real asset, just needs to be verified. Thank you for the information. Will look into verifying this asset now.
